  • Location Information: With your permission, we collect location data to show nearby heritage sites.
  • Usage Information: We collect information about how you interact with our App.
  • Device Information: We collect information about your device, including device model, operating system, and unique device identifiers.

Location Data

Nordic Culture Compass accesses and collects precise location data, with your permission, to show nearby heritage sites, your distance from them, directions, map features, and check-in availability.

If you turn on proximity alerts, the App collects location data in the background, including when the App is closed or not in use, to notify you when you are near heritage sites.

Location access and proximity alerts are optional. You can change location permission in your device settings and turn proximity alerts off in the App.

Location data is used only for App functionality, may be processed by map and location service providers that help us operate the App, and is not sold or used for advertising.

Account Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from inside the app. To do so:

  1. Open the app, go to Profile, and choose Delete account.
  2. Type the email address associated with your account to confirm ownership.
  3. Confirm the final warning. The app will permanently delete your account and sign you out.

The following data will be deleted: your profile information, check-in history, XP and level progress, badge collection, friend connections, and any other data associated with your account.

We may retain certain data as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., fraud prevention, legal obligations). Any retained data will be anonymized where possible.
